From exclusive items handcrafted by the finest local and international designers to inspired gifts for less than $50, the SFMOMA Museum Store has something for everyone.

 

Internship Duration

Full time, starting Monday, June 10, 2019 - Friday, August 16, 2019

 

Educational Objectives

  • Develop a strategy for marketing the store through social networks with a focus on new customer acquisition
  • Design and implement test frameworks that measure the incremental impact of social media marketing on online sales
  • Collaborate with buyers to determine which products/designers to promote
  • Help foster a "test & learn" mindset for all store marketing initiatives
  • Identify and address any opportunities that might hinder successful test and learn deployment
  • Share campaign results and best practices with store team
  • Provide decision making support for buying team by working with the team to define problems or desired outcomes, determine required information, synthesize findings, and recommend action

Requirements

Interested candidates must be enrolled in a degree-granting program (at the undergraduate or graduate level) at the time of their internship.

 

STRONG interest in digital marketing a must.

Develop a strategy for marketing the store through social networks with a focus on new customer acquisition.

  • Statement of purpose: No more than one page, describing why you are interested in museum or nonprofit work, your reasons for applying to SFMOMA, and your goals for the internship.
  • Two Letters of recommendation from a college professor or former employer
  • College transcript: Transcripts can be unofficial, but need to be readable.
  • Availability for an in-person interview starting in early April. Skype and phone interviews will be considered for students who are abroad or far from California.
