The Media Services Department manages the Museum's technology-dense multimedia spaces and the technical production activities in support of the event, film, and interpretive programs. The Museum's production activities include live acoustic and amplified music, performance, digital and analog film screenings, lectures, and event audio-visual production and post-production. The Department also supports the Museum's public facing multimedia spaces including interpretive galleries and digital signage systems.

The Media Services Manager provides oversight of the day-to-day media service operations and technical services and leads the technical aspects of special events production, as well as video production, postproduction and distribution. The position manages audiovisual systems in the Museum's venue spaces including the Wattis Theater, Koret Visitor Education Center, and the White Box, and multimedia systems in public spaces including interpretive galleries and digital signage systems. The position supervises a staff of permanent and on-call technical staff and works collaboratively with counterparts in content development, exhibition technical services, and event production roles throughout the planning and execution of the Museum's programmatic initiatives and production activities.
