We are looking for a Major Gifts Officer who is a strategic and proactive fundraiser, is committed to establishing and growing productive, long-term relationships with current and new cultural supporters, and brings energy and creativity to the Major Gifts team of the Development department.

Reporting to and partnering with the Director of Major Gifts, the Major Gifts Officer is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individuals for gifts to SFMOMA of five- to six-figure gifts and above. They manage a portfolio of at least 75 individuals to raise support for the museum's exhibitions, ambitious Strategic Plan initiatives, community-oriented education and public programs, and other important programmatic activities that align with SFMOMA's mission and objectives.

Primary goals:

  • Raise funds to meet and exceed ambitious Major Gifts revenue goals
  • Work with Trustees to identify, cultivate, and solicit individual prospects
  • Manage effective stewardship of individual donors providing project support

Work collaboratively across other Development teams and museum departments to identify and craft strategies for support
