Under the supervision of the Associate Director of Social Media and Content Marketing, the Social Media Associate coordinates day-to-day content production of social media content for SFMOMA channels and provides copywriting support, creation of short-form video content and administrative support for the Digital Experience department. This position must love content and should be able to craft engaging and accurate copy while collaborating with stakeholders across the museum to ensure consistency of all public facing SFMOMA channels. Over the course of an average week, this person will assist the social media team in writing timely and accurate copy, creating content assets for social media channels, shooting, and editing short-form videos and conceptualizing creative and engaging ways to draw audiences to SFMOMA. The results of digital engagement tactics will be evaluated against marketing and communications goals, community engagement and audience development objectives.

The person in this role should understand how audiences use and engage with all social media channels and optimize our content accordingly. The ideal candidate for this role must love brainstorming content ideas, recognize opportunities to capture audiences via timely topic and trends and ideate in both the immediate present and long-term messaging. This means recognizing opportunities to add engagement while ideating original, evergreen content experiences. 

Schedule:  Full-time, 35 hours per week (includes benefits)

Pay Rate: $26.84 (starting) / $32.09 (position) 

This is a union position subject to the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
